The past few years have seen large corporate organisations dominate the day care sector, with 2007 seeing Australian based ABC acquire Busy Bees and Leap Frog, delivering a strong corporate presence into the sector. Since then ABC have continued to increase their portfolio of nurseries by focusing on single owner operator outfits to add to their sizable group.
Mid 2008 saw confidence in the financial markets deteriorate, and as a result this affected the pipeline of many corporate acquisitions, despite the strong message that the care sector remains a strong area of focus for many corporate lenders. Read on »
